The Zwift Hub is hardware from the global online fitness platform for cyclists. And therefore, they are no longer a software company only. With the trainer, Zwift becomes a competitor with manufacturers like Tacx (Garmin) and Wahoo.
What is the Hub Smart Trainer?
Simple said. The Hub Smart Trainer is a training device for cyclists who wants to train indoors. The smart trainer is the hub between a bike and a computer with the Zwift program installed, where cyclists can ride and train in virtual environments.
Together with their software Zwift Hub opens up virtual worlds full of workouts, group rides, and races alongside a global community of cyclists. Whether performing structured workouts in ERG mode, training with power for the first time, or riding the steepest gradients on Alpe du Zwift, Zwift Hub’s wheel-off design ensures that cyclists enjoy smooth and instantaneous resistance changes to match what they see on the screen, allowing them to focus on the ride.
Zwift includes a cassette with Hub
While competitors allow you to buy a rear cassette for your specific needs. Zwift says it will disrupt the market, not based on the unique design of the trainer but certainly on the price and the fact that a cassette is included. Where systems like the Wahoo KICKR, Tacx Neo, Elite Direto or Saris H3 don’t have a cassette included, Zwift has. For those using AppleTV, Zwift Hub can act as a Bluetooth bridge for your heart rate monitor, freeing up an additional Bluetooth connection that will enable you to pair an additional accessory with Zwift.
