With the (re)launch of the Speedplay pedals Wahoo bring the first product since Wahoo acquired Speedplay in 2019. The Wahoo Speedplay pedals are available in 4 different models.
4 new Wahoo Speedplay pedals
With the announcement of the 4 new Wahoo Speedplay pedals the Atlanta (USA) based company showed the first product since Wahoo acquired Speedplay in 2019. The reason of for pedals is clear. Each market has their own target group of users and budget.
The road pedals are available in a full range, determining which one is right for you depends on the type of riding you do and riding experience level.
With the NANO, ZERO, COMP and AERO the lineup is complete. Well almost, but on that subject later more.
The Speedplay NANO is the featherweight pedal, made from Titanium and weighs just 168g.
With the Speedplay ZERO you have a Stainless Steel model that weighs 222g.
The versatile, ride-ready Speedplay COMP is made from Chromoly and weighs 232g.
And the last one the Speedplay AERO defies wind, boosts speed and gets results. Also made from Stainless Steel and weighs 224g.
The NANO, ZERO and COMP are now available, the AERO will be available on a later date just like that other “product” Wahoo didn’t announced but showed.
New cleat for Speedplay pedals
Not only showed Wahoo new pedals the cleats are also new. Because you need a connection between your feet and pedal the cleat to add under your show is also optimised by Wahoo. By integrating a cleat with a lower pedal profile, SPEEDPLAY’s aerodynamic system platform decreases drag delivering faster ride speeds without increases in power output
Wahoo POWRLNK ZERO
During the presentation DC Rainmaker discovered that Wahoo showed another product the Wahoo POWRLNK ZERO. A power meter to measure the power of the legs during a ride.
Although Wahoo didn’t said a word of the POWRLNK ZERO it looks like we get a new competitor on the power meters this summer. Garmin and Shimano are together with Favero the biggest manufactures of power meter pedals and Wahoo is going to join them. It’s interesting to see how Wahoo is going to set the power meter pedals in the market?
