Thömus, a Swiss company, is showing us the future of speed pedelecs with the Twinner 1 Pro. Thömu Binggeli, a former Stromer forefather, planted the company’s roots back to 1991. Thömus created a Swiss-made mountainbike for Olympic medalist Mathias Flückiger. Anno 2023 the company shows the next step in the bicycle industry with the Twinner 1 Pro.
What is the Twinner 1 Pro?
The Thömus Twinner 1 Pro is an innovative, revolutionary speed pedelec made with state-of-the-art carbon fiber technology. Combining powerful motor and battery technology with the convenience of two wheels. The Twinner 1 Pro creates a new riding experience that takes performance and convenience to a new level. This lightweight, agile bike has a top speed of 45km/h, making it the perfect choice for commuters and recreational riders. With its sleek design, intuitive controls, and responsive handling, the Twinner 1 Pro is a game-changer that puts speed and convenience at your fingertips.
Twinner 1 Pro vs Specter 1
What sets the Twinner 1 Pro apart from the Specter 1 speed pedelec is the combination of its carbon fiber frame for a lightweight and stiff ride, furthermore the built-in display on the handlebar for access to various IoT solutions.
The Specter 1 has a Bosch mid-motor and an enviolo stepless gear hub in the rear. The Twinner in the meantime has a 12-speed Pinion gearbox in the middle of the bicycle. The newly developed Transverse flux motor is fully integrated into the rear wheel. The Transverse flux motor offers 1600w peak and 70Nm torque, and its removable battery pack from 1638Wh provides excellent range.
Stromer vs Twinner 1 Pro
The Twinner 1 Pro is outfitted with the Twinner Smart Hub, a feature that can be compared to the Stormer Omni display/board computer, which serves as the core of speed pedelecs. The Stromer has the display on the frame’s top bar, while the Twinner 1 Pro has the Smart Hub integrated into the handlebar. This 3.5-inch touchscreen and the IoT solution allow the Twinner to receive OTA updates, much like the Stromer. Moreover, it comes with GPS and tracker, an Android and/or iOS app, Blubrake Anti-lock Braking System, 29-inch wheels with Vittoria tires, and a Gates carbon belt, making it the perfect high-speed bicycle.
Luxury on a bicycle
Two of the most luxurious features of the Thömus speed pedelec are the heated handgrips, perfect for rides in the winter. The other feature is the rear camera that makes a 360-degree view possible for the rider. The complete weight of the bicycle is 32 kg.
