The Canyon Ultimate 5th generation model is the longest bike model in the manufacturer’s portfolio. The Canyon Ultimate has marked the epitome of the classic road bike. But what is new on the Canyon Ultimate?
Lightweight Ultimate for in the mountains
Although Canyon places the Ultimate bicycles on the market as an all-around racingbike. The lightweight Ultimate performs best in the mountains. With a weight of just 6.2kg and the stiffness of an aero bike, the Ultimate should help you climb more easily. Although this is a new bike, it is more of an evolution than an evolution. One of the things that make a real difference is the integrated cables. The cockpit is clean and similar to the cockpit of the aero bike from Canyon.
Build in a windtunnel
Canyon used Swiss Side F1 aerodynamic expertise to build the Ultimate racing bike. Around 4 million simulation steps were done to create the ultimate bicycle. Thanks to Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Canyon could create the best stiffness-to-weight result for this bike. Then the engineers of Swiss Side did their trick on the optimization of the frame to get the bike in aero as well as being lightweight.
Configurations of the Canyon Ultimate
The Ultimate comes in three platforms – CFR, CF SLX, and CF SL. The main difference between these models is the quality of the carbon used, the groupset and the wheels, which you can choose from. Absolute top-of-the-line models are the Ultimate CFR eTap and Ultimate CFR Di2, which will cost you over 10k. The CF SLX model bikes have a price between 8.699 € and 6.299 €. The CF SL models cost between 4.999 € and 2.899 €. On the Canyon website, you can choose the model you like.
