With the Rally Power Meters from Garmin the cycling market has a new dual-sensing pedal power meters that delivers reliable power measurements.

Garmin’s Vector 3, launched in 2017, this was a big step in power meter.  The Rally XC200 power meters from Garmin are the latest edition of the US Brand based in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. With a slim pedal design, easy to mount to a bike, compatible with Shimano SPD, SPD-SL and Look Keo cleats that measures power on a road and off the road bicycle.
Garmin made three types of Rally Power meters. The Rally RS100 and Rally RS200 (single and dual) for road bicycles with Shimano SPD-SL cleats. The Rally XC100 en Rally XC200 (single and dual) for off the road bicycles with Shimano SPD cleats. And last but no least the Rally RK100 en Rally RK200 (single and dual) for road bicycles with Look KEO cleats.

The Rally pedals offer ANT+ and Bluetooth connectivity, along with a claimed +/- 1% accuracy. Via Garmin Connect the power meters can connect to a cycling computer, (Garmin) watch of smartphone app. During a ride you can see how much power you use or make a power training.
With a stack height of 13.5 mm for the Rally XC and stack height of 12.2 mm for Rally RK and RS models, they are a bit higher than the Favero’s Assioma pedals.

Serious testing

There was some serious testing involved during the development of the Rally Power Meters. 125 different testers where involved, and they tested the power meters over more than 200.000 km. Through mud, rain, snow, gravel, heat and cold. You can see that reliability is key for Garmin.

The Rally RS100 and Rally RK100 Power Meter single the price starts at €649.99 EUR, a dual set costs €1099.99 EUR. The upgrade pedal is €549.99 EUR.
