Why Fons?
Alfonsina Strada was the inspiration for the brand. She was in 1924 the only woman among a crowd of men at the start of the Giro d’Italia. At that point in time, women weren’t allowed to bare their knees let alone wear cycle shorts! Alfonsina couldn’t be stopped by anyone to get on her bike and therefore became the first and only woman to ride the Giro d’Italia.
