With a multi-year contract the Cervélo and Jumbo-Visma team join. Dutch sports team Jumbo-Visma and Canadian-Dutch bicycle manufacturer the pro-cycling team no longer use the Bianchi bikes.
From Bianchi to Cervélo bicycles
With the decision from the Team Jumbo-Visma executives to switch from Bianchi to Cervélo bicycles the mechanics had to assemble 350 bikes. To get the assemble job done, 15 mechanics needed 2000 man-hours. Depending on the parcours the riders of the bicycle-team have a range of bicycles to their disposal. The stiff and speedy S5, the mountain climbing R5, the P5 time-trail model, and the classics-bred Caledonia-5. A cyclocross model seams to be in development. The bicycle livery is black with a yellow fork and white logo.
Aerodynamic S5
Aerodynamic performance and stiffness that are the main features for the S5. The all carbon frame and tapered fork are the base for all the six consumer models that are available. On the aerodynamic part the internal wiring at the cockpit, the aero stem design and tube designs reduce the drag. The 2021 version of the S5 is 42 grams lighter than it’s predecessor. A Shimano Dura Ace group and Vittoria Corsa tyres and Prologo Dimension Nack saddle complete the S5.
Classic road R5
Jumbo-Visma riders Primoz Roglic, Tom Dumoulin, Robert Gesink and Wout van Aert will climb the mountains with the R5. The is a high performance classic road bike has 26% improvement in bottom bracket stiffness and 18% improvement in head tube stiffness compared to the previous generation R5.
All-round Caledonia-5
The Caledonia-5 was the latest model the Canadian-Dutch bicycle manufacturer in 2020 presented. In collaboration with the World Tour riders Cervélo developed a bike for classic rides like the one-day professional men’s bicycle road race Paris–Roubaix.
The Caledonia-5 range offers a selection of groups and tyres form SRAM to Shimano and from DT Swiss, Reserve, Zipp and Enve.
P5 Time Trail
For the P5 time trail bike, Cervélo focused entirely on aero performance within the boxes defined by the UCI. The frame shapes, handlebar, and fit positions, and design features work together to reduce drag and enhance your efficiency.
