The Carqon Cruise is the third in line of the Dutch manufacture. After the original Carqon (now called Carqon Classic) and the Carqon Flatbed is the Cruise ready to hit the stores in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Denmark, and Switzerland at the end of the summer.
Carqon eCargo bike
In 2020 the first Carqon eCargo bike was launched, the now called Carqon Classic is known for its protective box with a door, one of the unique selling points. But one of the critics is the weight of the Carqon. It’s quite heavy if you compare it to an Urban Arrow or Riese & Müller. Another big plus for the Carqon is the suspension in the front fork. The Carqon Flatbed is not a family type of cargo bike just like the other e-bikes in the Carqon portfolio.
Meet the Cruise
The Carqon Cruise box has a soft, comfortable interior made of EPP and a durable outer shell. Furthermore it is equipped with a high, protective neck support. The solid aluminium frame with a low centre of gravity is the base of this cargo bike. The Cruise is equipped with hydraulic disc brakes, and the Bosch Performance CX Cargo Line mid-drive motor. Furthermore the Cruise has a Gates belt, Enviolo Stepless Gear Hub and Schwalbe tires. You can also choose for a derailleur hub model.
When to expect the Carqon Cruise?
The biggest question is, when can we expect the Carqon Cruise? The manufacturer states the end of the summer but the year is not mentioned. I say that for a reason, during the launch of the first Carqon model the manufacturer said an 8 week delivery time, which becomes almost 8 months. And with the craziness in the e-bike industry and supply chain problems around the world, the question of when to expect the Carqon Cruise is not a cynical one but a realistic one?
Wich a starting retail price of €4899 the Cruise is just below the 5000 EUR line. If you like to know more about the Carqon Cruise just visit carqon.com.
